Course Overview
This race course is fun and relatively flat so it is a perfect race for beginners or those looking to set a PR(personal record). The trail is mostly single track through dense and mossy old growth forest with a little bit of pavement through the campground and a lakeside finish line. Each loop is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) with about 300 feet of elevation gain per loop.

Fundraiser
This race was created to be a fundraiser for Interfaith Works Emergency Overnight Shelter which provides critical support for the folks of Olympia and Thurston County facing homelessness. A portion of the proceeds from each race entry goes directly to the shelter and runners also have the option to make an extra donation during registration (all of which will go directly to the shelter).
Want to do more? Clean out your closets and bring any clean, unwanted shoes, jackets, clothing, sleeping bags, blankets, socks, gloves, and hats to be donated to the shelter. You can also check out their website for a wish list of the items most needed for the shelter. What seems like a little thing to us can mean a big difference to someone in need. Click here to visit their donation page to view the wish list or to donate directly to the shelter.

Course
The course will be well marked with arrow signs at each junction and yellow/pink confidence ribbon. You should not go more than 3/4 mile without seeing a ribbon or sign. The trails are open to the public so please be respectful of other trail users and slow down/yield to hikers and families. We want to set a good example for our trail running community. There is a short section where the runners go through the campground, please be quiet through this area, particularly during the first couple of loops as campers may still be sleeping.
Runners have until approximately 4:30 pm to finish the race.

As guidance evolves we will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our COVID safety plans. Here are current plans for this race:
- Encouraging everyone to get vaccinated AND boosted
- Asking that if you're sick that you stay home
- Keeping everyone as spread out as possible by either keeping races small and or using "wave starts"
- Reducing contact of surfaces and increased cleaning and sanitizing of surfaces.
- Having volunteers use gloves and masks whenever preparing or handling food and drinks.
Aid Station
Each loop is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). The 30K will do three loops and the 50K will complete 5 loops. Each aid station will be stocked with water, Nuun electrolyte drink, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips, pickles, and assorted cookies or candy. We will have a variety of gels, but we do ask that you only use those to supplement what you are providing for yourself. There will also be first aid supplies, sunscreen, bug spray, and menstrual products for issues that arise on the course.
Our volunteers are tracking all runners at the aid stations, so please wear your bib visibly on the front of your body.

Cut-offs
In order to keep our race on schedule and within the time limits of our permits, we have a cut off time the last aid station. If you are not leaving the aid station by the cut off time, you will no longer be able to continue in the race. Although these are public trails, you are participating on them as a registered participant of our event and by signing up for the race, you agree to follow our rules and conditions for completing (or not completing) the race. Our sweeps will be leaving right at cut off time, taking down course markings with them. If you refuse to leave the course after cut off and end up getting lost or injured, requiring search and rescue, our permitting agency could look at that as negligence on our end (allowing runners on the course with no course markings or after the time we agreed to stop people). We take this rule seriously and as it puts our permits in jeopardy, if any runner violates this rule, they may be subject to a ban from future races.
Cutoff Time for the last loop for the 50K & 30K is at 3pm. All participants should be done by 4:30pm.

Volunteer shifts range from just a couple hours in the morning to an all day aid station or something at the finish area. We promise you will have fun!
